Meet Steward Harvard
In 1978, I attended the American K-9 Training Center, where I was formally taught the handling and training of dogs. My wife and I soon began competing in AKC shows in both conformation and obedience, and together we titled more than 20 dogs. Over the years, I’ve been court-certified as an expert in dogs and behavioral problems, which also gave me the opportunity to conduct training sessions for employees of Alabama Power and Tallapoosa River Electric—educating and protecting workers against potential attacks while performing their duties.

I’ve also trained extensively in the sport of Schutzhund, where my dog and I qualified as one of only six teams to represent the USA in the 1993 World Competition. Schutzhund requires countless hours of dedicated training and mutual respect between dog and handler as they compete in three demanding phases: protection, tracking, and obedience.

For over 40 years, my wife Candy and I successfully operated kennels in Crawford, Alabama. Today, we call Clayton, Georgia home. With this wealth of experience, I create individualized programs that bring out the very best in each dog—helping your little angel shine while building the communication and bond that ensures a lifelong, loving companionship.

My Training Journey

Present
I attended the American K-9 Training Center, where I was formally taught the handling and training of dogs through a structured program that emphasized discipline, consistency, and clear communication. It was there that I gained a solid foundation in canine behavior, obedience, and problem-solving techniques—skills that would shape the rest of my career. The experience not only taught me proven methods but also instilled in me the patience and respect needed to truly understand and connect with each individual dog.
I trained extensively in the sport of Schutzhund, a discipline that demands precision, endurance, and complete trust between dog and handler. After years of dedication, my dog and I had the incredible honor of qualifying as one of only six teams selected to represent the USA in the World Competition. It was an unforgettable experience that tested not just skill, but also the strength of the bond we built through countless hours of training in protection, tracking, and obedience.
My wife, Candy, and I went on to run successful kennels in Crawford, Alabama for over 40 years, where we dedicated our lives to breeding, boarding, and training dogs. Over the years, we also built and sold several thriving businesses, but our true passion has always remained with dogs and the unique bond they share with their owners. Today, we’ve brought that same lifelong commitment and expertise to Tiger, Georgia, where we now reside and continue to focus on what we love most—helping dogs and their families build strong, lasting relationships through effective training.
